Though we may be small we aim big, working to ensure our guests are taken care of and their needs met. We don’t operate as a regular hotel as our main purpose is to give back to the community and be social and environmentally sustainable. This is and will always be our #1 quest, through providing what is necessary for our team, being environmentally and socially conscious to make sure those that are younger have an environment in which they can enjoy and prosper.
This is the reason why, as part of our mission, we are establishing the Butterfly Pea Foundation.
Through the Butterfly Pea Foundation we are looking to provide support in education and healthcare to the residents of Prek Toal, a floating village between Siem Reap and Battambang. Through our mission we are hoping to accomplish the following:
The Butterfly Pea Foundation’s purpose is to improve the accessibility to education, the quality of education, provide basic medical assistance, treatment of wound care, hygiene information and supplies, for the people residing in Prek Toal.
Though our primary focus will be the residents of Prek Toal, we will also assist other residents of Siem Reap for emergency situations. Emergency situations can be defined as immediate need for healthcare assist with housing or education.
There will be much more to come regarding the foundation and you will all be the first we share it with once we receive our official license.
So it has been a great couple of days, being recognized with an honor of being the #1 Boutique Hotel in Siem Reap, receiving word that our foundation license should be received by end of the month would be enough, but more is on the way. We are soon to be audited by Plastic Free Cambodia as it is our goal to be recognized as a plastic free environment and receive this distinction by Plastic Free Cambodia.
Everything is a learning experience, whether from the team, our guests, or from our partner organizations. By working together we can make a difference for the residents of Siem Reap and all of Cambodia.
